About

Hi there, I'm Nigel Holland. A couple of years ago, amidst the pandemic and the obligatory lockdowns, I made a conscious decision to utilize my time productively. I embarked on a journey to learn 3D modeling and computer-aided design (CAD). Investing in a 3D printer, I brought my designs to life. These creations became invaluable aids, simplifying everyday tasks and enhancing my life significantly.

Before long, I found myself drawn to crafting some of my designs in wood, which meant acquiring power tools! With lockdown in place, our dining room stood idle, so I repurposed it as a makeshift workshop. My learning journey didn't halt at mastering CAD; I became intrigued by the mechanics of 3D printing. Leveraging similar technology and my CAD knowledge, I ventured into designing and constructing my own CNC Milling machine and laser engraver. Since then, my family and I have relocated to North Yorkshire, where I've transformed the garage into my dedicated workshop space.

I've harbored a longstanding fascination with woodturning, crafting small bowls and flower pots for artificial blooms. However, it's only been recently that I've delved into the intricate art of handcrafting fountain pens and mechanical pencils. There's an undeniable sense of fulfillment in the process of pen-making, especially when using exotic woods and skillfully applying the perfect finish to bring them to life.
